Avoid: chocolate, chips and fried foods.
Eat: Make brown rice a regular part of your diet.
Drink: 8 glasses of water a day.

Studies show that zinc deficiency may contribute to acne. Consult your doctor before taking supplements as too much zinc may have harmful side effects.

Spread It On
To help fight pimples, use a paste of onion and honey. Cook one slice of onion in 1/2 cup honey until tender. Mash with a fork to form a paste and allow to cool. Apply to the problem area, leaving it on for an hour before rinsing away with warm water. Use this treatment every night until your complexion is clear and sparkling.

An application of egg whites helps to distribute the skin's natural oils more evenly, eliminating both dry and oily patches. Swab the egg white on your face with a cotton ball, allow to stand for 5 minutes and remove. Studies have shown that certain amino acids in the egg white's protein may have some anti-inflammatory properties. In most cases, small pimples and blemishes can be eliminated or reduced in size in a matter of days.

Prepare oatmeal as directed and apply to the face. Let stand for 10-15 minutes before washing off. The abrasive action of the oats deeply cleanses and increases the peripheral circulation in the affected area, which speeds healing.

Astringent
Rub lemon juice over the blemished skin before going to bed and rinse with cool water in the morning. After a couple of days, you should see definite results.

Apply apple cider vinegar with a cotton swab and allow to stand for 10 minutes before removing with a mild soap.

Cucumber extract soothes the skin and helps dry out acne. Juice a cucumber and apply it to your blemishes with a cotton ball. After 15 minutes, rinse your face.

Scars
To fade old acne scars, apply a paste consisting of 1 teaspoon honey mixed with a teaspoon of nutmeg. Rinse it off after 20 minutes, using cool water. Repeat twice a week. You should notice a difference within a couple of months.

Other Tips
Change your pillowcases at least once per week. You've spent the last week rubbing your oily face on the fabric, sluffing off dead skin and other residue that may contain bacteria.

Keep your hands off your face. They're not as clean as you think.
